"Beyond the Molten Realm"
Mixed media on panel
61.5 x 25.5 inches (with frame)
“In my creation, I tried to daringly traverse the waters of maximalism, pushing the boundaries of my artistic expression while meticulously weaving a sense of harmony and cohesion into the composition. The materials I chose became vessels for my creative energy, and I felt the fire of creation flowing during the production. For me, his artwork embodies the very essence of soul geology. I tried to intertwine the grounding nature of earthen materials. It is a piece that is a part of my personal journey and an autobiographical reflection. It glistens and shines, a manifestation of the profound connection between my art and my heart.”
- Jon Wassom 2023
Materials used: Mortar, concrete, acrylics, rocks and soil From Sedona, sticks, clay, wood, old paint cloths, paper, butterfly wings, ink, metallics and iridescence, paint brushes/lids, oil paint, and resin.
